Totensonntag is the protestant equivalent to All Saints Day (the answer to these questions). People bring special flowers to the graves of their loved ones and light candles. The crematoriums in Berlin are open this day with events for the community. I spent the day at the Krematorium Berlin Baumschulenweg where there was an organ recital, an a capella performance, tour of the crematorium, films showing the cremation process, service led by the secular humanists, urn display, pop up library on the theme of death and dying, lectures about forensic medicine/ family mourning processes, and also a lecture by one of the architects -Charlotte Frank- of Schultes Frank Architekten.
