Kofun; key graves

I have wanted to visit some Kofun (pictured above) since art history in high school… but the problem is that they are really supposed to be seen from above in order to realize their impressive key shapes (other wise basically they are just woods and water). Also, they are literally just plopped in the middle of the city. Nobody really cares about what they are or that they are there- there are not even information signs designating some of their significance! But then again the ones I visited were just a random 2 of the 30,000 in Japan.
